Who can play?

Anyone 21 and older with no collegiate eligibility left and/or not under a current professional baseball contract. 

What competitive level is this league?

We have players from 21 - 60 years of age. The experience ranges from high school level to MiLB level.

How fast do the pitchers throw?

Starters for each of the teams average mid 80’s. There are outliers that throw 90+ MPH. The fastest recorded three consecutive pitches in the GRBL were 98, 97, 97 by Trey Turner (AA - Washington Nationals) in 2025.

What do I have to do to tryout?

Online registration must be complete to participate. Tryouts for Season XI are going to be held on Saturday, June 13th 2026 at Meador Park in Springfield, Mo.

How are the teams formed?

Following tryouts, Grip-N-Rip Baseball Coaches will conduct a 13-15 round draft. Teams will be announced immediately after the draft has concluded via our livestream draft show hosted by Rance Burger.

How long is the league?

We anticipate drafting 84 players to form six teams. The regular season lasts approximately seven weeks (pending weather) followed by playoff and championship weekends. Months of play are August - October.

How much does this cost?

 Tryout fee is $20.  If selected, league dues will be assessed per player. Last year’s player dues were $325 for returning players and $350 for rookies (subject to change).

Can my business sponsor me if I am selected?

Yes. We will open individual sponsorship at the conclusion of the tryouts and when all teams are formed. This cost is $400 where will provide tickets to your sponsor and also feature your business name on your player profile on your jumbotron profile pic.
